Hearing set for man charged in Muslim girl's death

A pretrial listening to is scheduled for a northern Virginia man charged within the slaying of a 17-yr-previous Muslim woman as she walked to a mosque with buddies.

Darwin Martinez Torres of Sterling is charged with second-diploma homicide and is scheduled for a listening to Friday afternoon in Fairfax County Juvenile and Home Relations Courtroom.

The sufferer, Nabra Hassanen, was out late with a gaggle of associates and was strolling again to a mosque for pre-daybreak Ramadan providers. Police say Hassanen was bludgeoned with a baseball bat.

Though the circumstances of the woman’s demise led many to take a position a few potential hate crime, police have stated the slaying is a case of street rage that started when Martinez Torres was driving and encountered Hassanen’s buddies strolling on the street.
